NEW YORK -- There was some pre-game talk Friday from Yankees manager Aaron Boone about how hard right-hander Sonny Gray worked the past few days to find a quick fix from his three-inning, six-run debacle last week at Fenway Park.
A mechanical adjustment "where he carries his hands" was made.
"Hopefully it allows him to go out and be the dynamic pitcher we think he can be," Boone said.
Nope.
It's back to the drawing board time.
Gray stunk again in a five-run, 3 1/3-inning outing that ended with a loud chorus of boos from a Yankee Stadium faithful that was cranky from a combination of bad pitching and more winter weather.
