Gary Sanchez is now battling more than just an embarrassingly low batting average.
The Yankees catcher fell even deeper into his season-opening slump Friday night at the Stadium, and went hitless in six at-bats, before being removed in the 14th inning of the 7-3 loss with cramps in his right leg.
Sanchez said he has never suffered cramps before and was unsure if he would be available to play Saturday.
“I just got to wait and see how I feel,” he said.
A breather wouldn’t be the worst thing for Sanchez, who is now 2-for-32 (.
