A home run few saw

When covering Alex Rodriguez, it was easy to forget how immensely talented he was because of all the baggage that came along with him. Every once in a while, he would remind you of that talent.

The memory that stands out to me came on a field in St. Petersburg, Fla., in May 2008. I was covering Rodriguez on a rehab assignment as he recovered from a right quad injury. The extended spring training game was on a back field at the Rays’ minor league complex at 10 a.
