Shane Greene took the Yankees trading him away personally.
The right-hander was dealt to the Tigers as part of a three-team deal that netted the Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius from the Diamondbacks.
“I felt like I got dumped,” Greene said, according to The Journal News. “I looked at myself in the mirror, put a chip on my shoulder and went from there.”
And where he’s ended up so far is pretty darn good. Greene is a 3-0 with 0.39 ERA in his first three starts for the best-in-baseball Tigers. Gregorius is 8-for-41 for the Yankees to go along with a myriad of base-running and fielding gaffes.
