Severino shows his stuff off; How Cessa went from infielder to pitcher; Girardi’s idea to improve WBC; Torres keeps hitting

Newsday | Erik Boland: Luis Severino showed off exactly what the Yankees see in him during yesterday’s game against the Rays. In the third inning, Severino struck out the Rays’ three best hitters on sliders and showed off his ability. In fact outside of a “wind-aided solo homer,” Severino pretty much had control of the Rays in his three innings of work. Girardi even noted how his stuff had improved from the last time out. Hopefully we see more of this Severino.

NJ.com | Randy Miller: Before Luis Cessa was trying to compete for a spot in the Yankees’ rotation, he was a infield prospect in the Mets’ organization.
