Gerrit Cole’s agent, who joked Wednesday that all 30 major league teams would like Cole in their Christmas stockings, smiled when presented with the sentiment recently expressed by both Brian Cashman and Aaron Boone: That the Yankees weren’t a player away from defeating the Astros in the American League Championship Series, but rather a play away.
“Let’s see,” Boras said with a smile, as he addressed the media during the general managers’ meetings.
