The Yankees placed CC Sabathia on the disabled list Monday due to right knee inflammation, and they announced that Chris Capuano has agreed to a Major League contract. Capuano, who pitched for the Yankees earlier this season, was 1-1 with a 1.93 ERA for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Sabathia made just eight starts for the Yankees last year, and the 35-year-old is 4-9 with a 5.27 ERA in 24 starts in 2015. The six-time All-Star has a career record of 212-128 with a 3.70 ERA, but he hasn't had a winning record and an ERA under 4.
