Ronald Torreyes walks off Yankees in 10 innings | Rapid reaction

NEW YORK -- When you're going bad, it seems as if teams can invent new ways to lose games.

That's what the Yankees were looking at Friday night when they were two outs away from a ninth loss in 10 games.

A great outing by Masahiro Tanaka was close to being wasted with the Texas Rangers scoring the first run of the game in the ninth inning on a strikeout/passed ball.

Who loses like that?

Not the Yankees.

Brett Gardner homered in the ninth to tie things up, then the Yankees prevailed 2-1 in 10 innings on a walk-off hit by Ronald Torreyes for a big win on a long night at Yankee Stadium.
