If the Yankees ever clinch a playoff berth, when they get to the postseason, Rob Refsnyder very well could be with them — whether he’s ready or not.
Refsnyder reached base four times in Wednesday’s 9-5, 11-inning loss to the Red Sox in The Bronx, but he showed why the Yankees thought he needed more seasoning, as well.
He whiffed while attempting to bunt in the ninth and then misplayed Travis Shaw’s grounder in the 11th that was generously ruled a hit, setting up Boston’s winning rally.
And then he ended the game by hitting into a double play.
