BOSTON - Brian Cashman said the call-up of much-hyped second baseman Rob Refsnyder was solely about Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, giving the Yankees a righthanded hitter against Red Sox lefthanders Eduardo Rodriguez and Wade Miley.
But he didn't completely dismiss the possibility that the 24-year-old will stick around longer than that, either.
"We never deny anybody's opportunity to push their way in," Cashman said before Saturday night's game, in which Refsnyder made his major-league debut, batting ninth. "But the God's honest truth is, it's about Saturday night and Sunday right now . . . It's really as simple as that.
