Prior to today’s game with the Minnesota Twins at George M. Steinbrenner Field, the Yankees announced that they’ve optioned infielder Rob Refsnyder to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He’s been reassigned to minor league camp.

Refsnyder spent much of this spring trying out third base with the hopes of becoming Chase Headley‘s backup, as well as spelling Starlin Castro over at second. At times Refsnyder turned in some good plays at the hot corner, but he made two errors this week which resulted in him getting hit in the face.
