NEW YORK — It's not the contract that got to Rick Porcello.
It might have been Boston.
A Morristown native and Seton Hall Prep graduate, Porcello signed a four-year, $80-million deal with the Red Sox in the offseason, and immediately what was expected of him heightened.
Fans and the team wanted Porcello to jump right into a front-rotation starter, especially considering the success he'd just had in his final year with the Tigers, going 15-13 with a 3.43 ERA.
