BOSTON — It wasn’t long before midnight on Wednesday night when Boston catcher Christian Vazquez admitted that while the latest battle between the Yankees and Red Sox was over, there were sure to be more fireworks ahead.
“You know that’s coming,” Vazquez said when asked if he thought the Yankees might retaliate for Joe Kelly drilling Tyler Austin, which led to a bench-clearing brawl during the seventh inning of a 10-7 Yankees win at Fenway Park.
“If they’re like us, the clubhouse is our second home,” Vazquez said. “We need to protect our home, so there will be something soon.
