But you didn’t need a doctorate in mind reading to decipher Brian Cashman’s words Monday, as he arrived at Major League Baseball’s General Managers’ meetings, and realize that day very likely won’t occur in 2016.
While declining to explicitly answer a reporter’s question about the Yankees’ interest in Murphy, the Mets’ free-agent infielder, Cashman made it quite clear the steady-hitting, shaky-fielding Murphy doesn’t interest the Yankees.
