TAMPA, Fla. – Aroldis Chapman pulled a folding chair up close to the TV in the Yankees' clubhouse. On the screen was something he could only imagine years ago, before he escaped his native country for the allure of money and a chance to play in the majors.
Chapman said he enjoyed watching Major League Baseball return to Cuba for the first time since 1999, as the Rays beat its national team, 4-1, at Estadio Latinoamericano in Havana.
"I had the opportunity to watch a couple of innings here," Chapman said via translator Marlon Abreu.
