On Wednesday night, following a career-best power display to help spark a Yankees doubleheader sweep of the atrocious Orioles, Gleyber Torres proclaimed, “Patience is the most important mentality.”
He was discussing the advice he’d dispense to teammate Miguel Andujar, who likely will miss the rest of this season due to a torn labrum in his right shoulder that will be surgically repaired Monday. Yet it also could apply to watching these Baby Bombers rise and fall with the passage of time.
After all, Andujar finished ahead of Torres in last season’s American League Rookie of the Year vote.
