Alex Rodriguez now has a clear path to the Hall of Fame.
The baseball writers can’t stop him. Neither can the stain of cheating the game and his exploits with performance-enhancing drugs.
For his road to Cooperstown could be the same that other analysts and announcers who won the Ford C. Frick Award have travelled, which led to their enshrinement in the Hall of Fame’s broadcasting wing.
The Frick selection committee is not concerned with outside “issues,” only the quality of one’s work behind a TV or radio microphone. And since A-Rod has the smallest of sample sizes (his postseason work for Fox Sports) we are obviously taking a grand leap here.
