The Yankees got swept by the Blue Jays this weekend, which was not the best strategy to maintaining their hold on first place in the AL East. They should go back to the whole "series victories" strategy that worked so well the entire month of July.
This weekend did not exactly go according to plan for the Yankees. I mean, maybe getting swept by the Blue Jays was their plan all along. If so, it is a very questionable and concerning plan. We here at Pinstripe Alley have studied this closely over the years and we've come to the conclusion that winning is more advantageous to the cause than losing is, especially when trying to maintain a division lead.
