With the Yankees out of the postseason, watching baseball now means watching other, non-Yankee teams playing baseball. Yesterday was the NL Wild Card game between the Pirates and the Cubs. Just in case you didn't know, the Pirates and Cubs were the 2nd and 3rd best team in the major leagues. They finished with better records than any American League team. One team had to see their incredible season come to an abrupt end due to the one game Thunderdome match. Just like the Yankees could not overcome potential AL Cy Young winner Dallas Keuchel in their game, the Pirates could not do anything against potential NL Cy Young winner Jake Arrieta.
