Prosecutors in Miami asked a federal judge to slash Alex Rodriguez’s steroid dealer’s prison sentence Wednesday, citing his cooperation in the government’s Biogenesis investigation that resulted in 10 arrests.
Court papers filed by the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida asked U.S. District Judge Darrin Gayles to reduce Anthony Bosch’s 48-month prison sentence to 32 months.
“Mr. Bosch has provided substantial assistance to the government in the prosecution of others,” prosecutors said in the filing.
Bosch operated Biogenesis of America, the Coral Gables anti-aging clinic that supplied Rodriguez and at least a dozen other Major League Baseball players with steroids, human growth hormone and other performance-enhancing drugs.
