Jason Mackey of the Pittsburg Post-Gazette tweeted the following info:
Heard today from a couple sources that the Pirates and Yankees have had conversations involving Jameson Taillon and Josh Bell. Unsure on seriousness or scope, but it’s an interesting match.
Taillon does seem to the kind of guy that Cashman would like to buy low on, as Taillon has missed most of the last two seasons. I suspect that Josh Bell is who Pittsburgh is forcing teams to take if they want Taillon. It’s absurd that Bell (who was an All-Star as recently as 2019) is considered a salary albatross, but, well, that’s where we are in 2020, I guess.
