It’s been a strange week in Yankee Land. The team suddenly had to deal with several post-vaccination cases of COVID-19 that sidelines members of their coaching staff and Gleyber Torres, Aaron Hicks and Giancarlo Stanton hit the injured list with very different ailments, someone named Ryan LaMarre joined the outfield, and, oh yeah, the Yankees won back-to-back series on the road — even at the Trop.
So yes, it’s been an experience. We talk about the outbreak, the injuries, the Yankees’ depth, possible setups with a healthy Rougned Odor back, Jameson Taillon’s frustrations, the sad realization that even god-kings like Gerrit Cole can bleed, and — of course — the week being mostly good despite some underperformance from the offense.
