Giancarlo Stanton shook his head after getting drilled in the side by a 90 mph fastball from Yefry Ramirez to lead off the bottom of the fifth, but the Baltimore right-hander insisted there was no intention.
“Unfortunately, I missed a pitch,’’ Ramirez said through an interpreter. “I didn’t make the pitch I was looking for. I tried to throw a quality pitch inside to him. I definitely do not want to put on the first batter of the inning.’’
Stanton came around to score the first run of the Yankees’ four-run fifth in their 6-3 victory over the Orioles on Tuesday night.
