Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones claims he was the victim of racial slurs and Red Sox fans berating him during Monday night's AL East tile in Boston.
In a conversation with USA Today's Bob Nightengale, Jones explained what happened--including having peanuts thrown at him.
"A disrespectful fan threw a bag of peanuts at me,'' Jones said, "I was called the N-word a handful of times tonight. Thanks. Pretty awesome.''
Jones, a long-time big league veteran with years of experience playing in hostile road environments, explained why Monday night's crowd was different than anything he's experienced before.
