Last week, I asked readers what the Yankees should make their top priority at the MLB trade deadline on August 31. It comes as no surprise that starting pitching topped the list. It feels like that’s the case every year. That brings us to this week’s FanPost Friday prompt:
What is one trade that would strengthen the Yankees’ starting rotation?
The 2020 Yankees have a decidedly mediocre starting rotation. By ERA-, they rank 17th overall. More traditional stats paint a similar picture, with a 4.62 ERA and 4.75 FIP. Gerrit Cole’s bout of homeritis aside, he’s as dominant as they come, and Masahiro Tanaka remains a reliable right-hand man.
