HOUSTON — A day earlier, sitting in the visitor’s clubhouse at Minute Maid Park, Joe Girardi had rocked back in forth in his chair, hands thrumming his desk, talking about the basics of a batting order, even on a night when the opposing pitcher is throwing golf balls.
“When you’re us, you’ve got to keep it close,” Girardi had said. “You know that at any time, one of our guys can hit the ball out of the ballpark.”
Thursday night, that big blow never came. Dallas Keuchel went all nine innings, he flummoxed and flabbergasted the Yankees hitters.
