Chase Utley added his name to the list of New York sports villains with his take-out side (or tackle) of Ruben Tejada at second base in the Dodgers’ 5-2 win over the Mets in Game 2 of the NLDS Saturday night. Here are some other players who have felt the wrath of New York fans:
Pedro Martinez
During Game 3 of the 2003 ALCS at Fenway Park, the Red Sox right-hander nearly drilled Karim Garcia in the head, drawing the Yankees’ ire, especially that of Jorge Posada. When Roger Clemens brushed back Manny Ramirez later in the game, both benches cleared and Martinez tossed Yankees bench coach Don Zimmer to the ground when the 72-year-old charged him during the scrum.
