It had been more than 24 hours since their latest injury, so perhaps the Yankees were due.
Shortstop Troy Tulowitzki exited Wednesday’s series finale against the Tigers after three innings with a left calf strain, the team announced. He was sent to New York Presbyterian hospital for further testing.
To start the top of the fourth, Gleyber Torres replaced Tulowitzki at shortstop and Tyler Wade entered the game at second base for Torres. Tulowitzki did not bat in the bottom of the third or field any balls in the top of the inning. He fired a sidearm throw to get John Hicks on a ground out in the top of the second and popped out in the bottom of the second.
