For the first time since June 7th, Domingo German will take the mound on a big league stage. After about one month on the IL the Yankees are getting back one of their best pitchers of the first half. Bullpen games have netted the Yankees positive results so far, but they’ll surely be happy to pause the strategy for now with five starters back in the fold.
On the other side, Jason Vargas will make his second start against the Yankees this season, this time on his home turf. He was able to pitch for a quality start and did receive a win last month in the Bronx, but will now have to face Aaron Judge, Aaron Hicks, and Didi Gregorius.
