The New York Yankees will begin a three game series, the last one of the regular season, against the Miami Marlins. First pitch of today’s game is scheduled for 7:05 pm ET, at Yankee Stadium. The Bombers, still with a slight chance of playing the Wild Card Series at home, will try to sweep the Fish and leave them with no postseason.
Miami, at 28-28 before Thursday’s games, is still without a sealed ticket to October baseball. They are in second place in the National League East, but they have the Philadelphia Phillies (28-29) breathing down their neck, and plenty of other clubs with a similar record vying for a spot in the postseason.
