The Yankees have had a remarkably successful start to the 2020 season, winning six of their first seven games. The lone loss occurred when James Paxton got shellacked in Washington, allowing three runs in an inning-plus of work.
Big Maple will make his second start of 2020 tonight, and he will have all eyes trained on him. Paxton averaged 92.4 mph on his fourseasm last time out, decidedly down from his 95.4 mph average last season. He also threw from a severely lower release point, leading many to speculate on the left-hander’s health and strength.
