Tonight, the Yankees and Red Sox meet in Fenway Park for just the second time this year. It’ll also incredibly be the last time they meet here in the regular season, thanks to the Sox taking the home team slot in the London Series. As of now, both teams are alive in the postseason hunt and could potentially line up to meet in the ALDS for a second straight year. Depending on how this series goes, though, the odds may get even shorter.
While this is still a significant series for the Yankees as they look to keep pace with the Astros for the best record in the AL, the series proves far more important to the Red Sox, who are looking to keep their Wild Card hopes alive.
