“It’s a great day for a ballgame,” said the late Ernie Banks, “let’s play two!”
The Yankees indeed have two games on deck for today against the Orioles. James Paxton gets the start in the afternoon half of the doubleheader, and he looks to build on recent success. He held the Red Sox to two runs over six innings on August 2, and then limited the O’s to one run over 6.2 innings last Wednesday. Paxton incorporated his offspeed pitches at a higher rate in those two outings, so that’s worth monitoring.
