The New York Yankees have acquired third baseman Josh Donaldson and shortstop Isiah Kiner-Falefa from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for catcher Gary Sanchez and third baseman Gio Urshela, the team announced on Sunday night.
Twins catcher Ben Rortvedt is also headed to New York in the trade.
Donaldson, a three-time All-Star and 2015 AL MVP, signed a four-year, $92 million contract with the Twins before the 2020 season.
After playing just 28 games in 2020 due to a calf injury, Donaldson bounced back in 2021 to slash .
