New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi announced before Friday’s game that starting pitcher Masahiro Tanaka will have his start pushed back from Sunday to Monday.

This could be a good thing for Tanaka as he tries to regain his confidence. In his last start on May 31 against the Baltimore Orioles, he gave up seven runs and nine hits in 5.2 innings.
“There’s obviously things that we’re trying to do all the time to get him consistent,” Girardi told WFAN’s Mike Francesa on Thursday.
