According to ESPN’s Coley Harvey, Sonny Gray has officially been moved to the bullpen and replaced by newly added RHP, Lance Lynn. Brian Cashman announced the decision on The Michael Kay Show on 98.7 ESPN New York.
To say it in simple terms, Gray’s time in the Bronx hasn’t been great. Since Gray has been in pinstripes, he has posted a 12-15 record with a horrible 4.85 ERA. Gray’s status as a starting pitcher in the Yankee rotation has been up in the air all season. However, the Yanks just didn’t have anyone to replace him with, until GM Brian Cashman made some moves at the deadline and acquired Lynn from the Twins.
