According to Jon Heyman of Today’s Knuckleball, the New York Yankees have signed 30-year old first baseman and designated hitter Billy Butler.
On Sunday, the Oakland Athletics released the 10-year veteran with one year remaining on his contract. He was hitting .276 with just four home runs in 85 games.
No specifics of the deal are known at this moment, however, we can assume that the deal will be a major league deal and only last for the remainder of 2016 only.
Stay tuned to ESNY when contract details come to surface.
