The New York Yankees decided to have Luis Severino make one more rehab start before rejoining the big club. They plan on having him complete one more start with double-A affiliate Trenton Thunder on Wednesday, before being considered for a callup.
Manager Aaron Boone spent his Saturday morning watching all 50 pitches of Severino’s last start with the Thunder. Watching Sevy run his fastball up to 97mph, the Yankees are enthusiastic about having him back in pinstripes.
Boone said that they want to build him up in a controlled environment.
