This is going from bad to worse to downright unbelievable. The New York Yankees are sending another star to the Injured List. Red hot Gary Sanchez is off to the 10-day IL according to the Yankees PR team.
Kyle Higashioka will come up from Triple-A to back up Austin Romine for the time being. This is nothing new for Higashioka. He played 29 games for the Yankees in 2018 while Sanchez struggled through injuries.
Sanchez has been dealing with a left calf strain and will join Dellin Betances, Luis Severino, Troy Tulowitzki, Giancarlo Stanton, Aaron Hicks, Miguel Andujar, Jordan Montgomery, and Didi Gregorius on the shelf.
