New York Yankees reliever David Hale placed on the 10-day IL due to back strain

The injuries continue for the Bombers.

Shortly after placing first baseman Luke Voit on the 10-day injured list with a sports hernia, the New York Yankees have now placed reliever David Hale on the 10-day IL with a back strain. The right-hand relievers placement on the IL is retroactive to Sunday, July 28.

The specific injury for Hale is being called a “lumbar spine strain.”

“Hopefully it’s something that’s a short-term thing,” Yankees skipper Aaron Boone said on Wednesday, per George A. King III of the New York Post.
