At George M. Steinbrenner Field, the New York Yankees cruised to their third straight victory after downing the cross-town rival New York Mets 6-3.
The Yankees sent 22-year old phenom Luis Severino to the hill to take on 24-year old southpaw and Long Island native Steven Matz. Severino struck out five while walking one and scattering two runs on five hits over 4.1 innings in what turned out to be his third spring training start and fifth pre-season appearance.
