New York Yankees Recall RHP Bryan Mitchell From Triple-A

Before taking on the Toronto Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre on Tuesday, the New York Yankees announced that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Bryan Mitchell from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

This move serves as the corresponding move for Jordan Montgomery, who was optioned to Triple-A following Sunday’s win in Cleveland.

Mitchell, who was optioned down on July 18, is 1-1 this season with a 4.29 ERA (3.90 FIP) over 13 appearances (one start). The 26-year-old will likely retain his old position with the team as an innings-eater in the bullpen.

In 12 starts for the RailRiders across four options, Mitchell is 2-3 with a 3.
