Don’t let the lack of Bryce Harper or Manny Machado fool you, folks. Believe it or not, the New York Yankees have spent quite a bit of money this offseason.
In fact, per Dayn Perry of CBS Sports, the Yankees are second only to the Washington Nationals in terms of money spent. New York, despite a seemingly quiet offseason, has spent $124.555 million. The key names added and/or retained include Adam Ottavino, J.A. Happ, Zach Britton, and DJ LeMahieu, among others.
By comparison, the Nationals have spent an astounding $189 million, with hurler Patrick Corbin and second baseman Brian Dozier headlining a busy winter.
