The New York Yankees have officially unloaded starting pitcher Sonny Gray to the Cincinnati Reds for a solid haul. The Yanks will be receiving a top prospect from a deep Reds farm-system and a supposed high draft-pick.
The Reds stalled on the deal as Gray is on the final year of his contract and wanted to ensure that he would be signing an extension to stick with the club for the forseeable future.
General manager Brian Cashman managed to secure second-base prospect Shed Long in the deal, bringing in another solid infielder to add to a potential rotation in the future.
