Saturday brought the fear. Sunday brings the official word.
New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge has been placed on the 10-day IR with a “significant” oblique strain.
Manager Aaron Boone labeled the injury as “pretty significant” prior to his team’s game against the Kansas City Royals Saturday afternoon. Judge left Saturday’s contest after showing major pain after a hefty cut at the plate.
Judge, 26, collected five home runs and 11 runs batted in while hitting .288 in 20 games prior to hitting the shelf. Interestingly, this is the same injury that ended his rookie campaign prematurely.
