A lingering injury that caused New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks to miss time into the playoffs has finally been taken care of. Now, the recovery process begins.
Hicks has undergone Tommy John surgery on his right UCL. He’s expected to miss 8-10 months. The injury to his elbow caused him to miss the final 52 games of the regular season. He didn’t return to the field until the team’s American League Championship Series against the Houston Astros.
The @Yankees have declined their 2020 club option for 1B/DH Edwin Encarnación.
