After dropping game one of a four game inter-league home and home split, the Yankees looked to even up the score against the Marlins on Tuesday night down in South Beach. This matchup in particular was relatively interesting because Nathan Eovaldi (5-1, 5.12 ERA) was set to take on ex-Yankee David Phelps (3-3, 3.99 ERA), each of whom were traded for one another in the off-season.
However, Eovaldi failed to rise to the occasion… again. After a 1-2-3 first inning for David Phelps, Eovaldi took the hill and was absolutely shelled by his former team.
