Edwin Encarnacion has been a major pickup for the New York Yankees, and has been producing a lot of runs even though his batting average is sinking.
In Monday’s 5-4 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays, Encarnacion hit two home runs and drove in three runs. In Friday’s 4-0 win over the Blue Jays, he had a three run double to lead the way.
He’s been batting .158 in pinstripes, but has six home runs and 13 RBIs, along with six walks. Nine of his 12 Yankee hits have been for extra bases.
