When the Dutch faced off against Chinese Taipei in the World Baseball Classic on Wednesday morning at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, New York Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius came to play.
First, he cranked a pitched up-and-in during his first at-bat in the second inning down the right field line and cruised into second on a double. He later scored on a Dashenko Ricardo single to make it 1-0, Netherlands.
Two innings later with the Dutch down 2-1, Didi smacked another double down the left field line off left-hander Chih-Hao Chang to score Wladimir Balentien and Jonathan Schoop to thrust his home country ahead yet again.
