On Tuesday, the New York Yankees announced they designated Kendrys Morales for assignment. Morales had just come off the injured list. He’d been out since June 11 with a strained left calf.
The Yanks also recalled left-hander Stephen Tarpley from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Tarpley was immediately effective in his first action, locking down the eighth inning in Wednesday’s win over the Toronto Blue Jays.
Prior to tonight’s game, the @Yankees reinstated 1B/OF Kendrys Morales from the 10-day injured list and designated him for assignment. Additionally, recalled LHP Stephen Tarpley (#71) from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
